Celebrating International Sangria Day
Today’ we’re celebrating International Sangria day which falls on December 20th every year. Sangria is a traditional Spanish beverage that dates back to as early as 200BC. From processing all the bills, processing wages for 100+ staff weekly, preparing all financial reporting and sending stock across the nation to Australian supermarket chains, our Admin department is kept rather busy. Taking the next step with efficiency driven machinery
Idyll Wine Co.’s latest installation project - an automated basket and cluster wrap machine for cider & RTD products has been installed and commissioned. This is a leap forward in our packaging capabilities as it automates the process of forming saleable 4 or 6 packs for our bottled Cider and RTD products.
Idyll Wine Co takes on Kegging
We are delighted to officially announce that Idyll’s packaging capacity is continuing to grow. The recent installation and commissioning, of our brand new Keg Line continues the diversification journey of Idyll Wine Co. This new keg line is an addition to our existing packaging facility, that is comprised of two state of the art bottling lines and canning lines.

Vintage Wrap Up 2021
Our talented Winemakers, Cellar Supervisors, Laboratory Technicians and Vintage staff have completed another Vintage season. By working with our innovative industry partners, we’ve been able to lessen the impact our packaging has on the environment even further.
Sharing Geelong Wine with The World
Based in Lara, our Warehouse and Logistics Team are the critical conduit between our manufacturing facility and Idyll Wine Co customers all over the world. Logistics Coordinator Kaine’s team including Elliot, Wazza, Greg and Chris are the gatekeepers for every bottle of wine and can of brew produced at our Moorabool winery and brewery. The Lara team share some impressive insights ahead of another big year at Idyll Wine Co.
Wine recommendations for your Easter Menu
Just in time for Easter this year, winemakers Blair and Will have suggested some Easter inspired dishes to pair with our Idyll wine range. They recommend starting any great meal with an elaborate grazing board including a variety of soft cheese, crackers, charcuterie, fig paste, antipasto, dark chocolate and olives. Tripling our Canning Capacity in 2021
Our new canning line has been commissioned, which will take our total canning capacity from 3,500 to 13,500 cans per hour. Operations Coordinator Harry and Maintenance Fitter Brant were key members of the installation team and explain the new canning line’s capabilities below.
Celebrating 21 years with Executive Director Michael Birthisel
Michael is Idyll Wine Co’s second longest serving employee and is celebrating 21 years in the business. From being one of the first staff back in 2000 to managing a company of 127 staff alongside fellow Executive Director Andrew Byers, we caught up with Michael to reflect on his past 21 years.
